Hey, I'm Alexis.
I’m a multidisciplinary artist born in Chicago and currently based in Los Angeles. At the University of Southern California, I majored in psychology and minored in art. I work in healthcare consulting and maintain my art practice as a space for creative exploration and expression. My studies in perception, behavior, and memory continue to shape how I think about images, visual culture, and the ways we construct meaning.
My research and practice move through photography, collage, and found imagery, often drawing from subculture archives, feminist and queer theory, and histories of the body, movement, and everyday life. In the studio, I cut, layer, rotate, repeat, and rearrange photographic fragments until familiar subjects begin to shift and create new narratives. Bodies become shapes, machines become patterns, and individual images accumulate into something recognizable and abstract. I am interested in the tension between preservation and disruption.
Whether I’m taking photographs, making collages, experimenting with mixed media, or exploring materials like textiles and clay, creating helps me feel connected to myself and the world around me. I enjoy working intuitively and following my curiosity wherever it leads.
When I’m not making art, you can find me hiking, browsing flea markets, attending local concerts, spending time with family and friends, or reading Tarot cards. I’m always looking for new sources of inspiration, both in the studio and in everyday life.
